Methods in Text and Discourse Analysis, 5 cr

In this class, we will get an overview of the main methods that exist in linguistics-oriented text and discourse analysis. We will address Discourse Analysis and its various flavours: corpus-assisted discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, the ethnography of communication, analysis of discourse moves & genre analysis. We will also briefly look at Conversation Analysis, discursive psychology approaches, text linguistics, and automatic text analysis (text mining).
