Core content
- Application area of modern chromathography. Separation principles. Analytical and preparative methods. Chromatography types and modes (TLC, LC, HPLC, GC). Stationary and mobile phases used for different analytes. Basic retention dependencies in GC, LC, SEC.
- Theory of chromatography. Van-Deemter equation.
- Chromatography instrumentation. Detectors for GC and HPLC. Qualitative and quantitative analysis. Retention parameters.
- Practice in qualitative analysis by TLC, preparative separation by LC, quantitative analysis by GC and HPLC.
- Advanced knowledge of retention dependencies.
- Separation efficiency dependencies.
- Choice of the optimal detection method for particular analyte based on selectivity and sensitivity.
- Optimization of separation conditions.
