Interaction and communication skills

Lectures: Working safe in an organic chemistry laboratory. Synthetic and analytical working methods in organic chemistry.
Laboratory works: Functional group reactions. Organic analysis, synthesis, and thin layer chromatography. Product validation with physical constants and IR spectroscopy.

Hazards with organic solvents and safe handling of them.
Nomination of organic compounds.
Equipment used in synthesis. Separation principles of organic compounds. Principles of thin layer chromatography. Theory related to melting point and refractive index. Principles of IR spectroscopy and basics of spectral interpretation.
Reaction mechanisms.
