The aim of this course is to introduce the students basic statistical, genetic, and computational analyses related to genetics studies and genetic conditions. Necessary theoretical background for understanding the concepts are provided but the focus is on hands-on exercises which will be done by utilizing selected software. In addition, students will study one inherited condition from different genetic and biological perspectives.

Completion option 1

The course begins already before the lectures by going through the material in Moodle and by taking the pre-exam. The lectures are mandatory and organized face-to-face. After the lectures, the course continues with weekly computer exercises (done independently) and a project work.
