Description

Students will learn about current debates on the social, cultural and individual meaning of physicality, sexuality and gender.

Objectives

Students will be familiar with the key concepts, theories and perspectives of research on embodiment, sexuality and gender. Students will be familiar with current research on the topic. Students will develop an understanding of how embodiment, sexuality and gender are socially and culturally constructed. They will identify different ways of representing and reproducing gender and sexuality differences and inequalities in the global world. Students will have the practical skills to argue for the needs and opportunities for social change in relation to gender, sexuality and embodiment.
