After completing the specialization in Photonic Materials the student is able to:
- distinguish between amorphous and ordered materials and their most important use cases in photonics
- understand how nano-structuring and periodicity in materials affects their optical response
- recognize the importance of physicochemical surface properties in photonics and the most important surface characterization techniques
- identify basic working principles and applications of devices based on semiconductor materials
