Students will be enrolled on the course according to the time of sign-up, priority given to 1) students who have completed the Intercultural Communication Skills (KIE-08006) course; 2) TUT students to whom the course is compulsory; 3) students that enrolled earlier

20 participants will be enrolled.

To ensure the group diversity, ca. 40% of students from international master's degree programmes and exchange students and 60% of students from degree programmes in Finnish

Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, the student will identify how local, national and corporate culture have an effect in an intercultural workplace. Students will identify the corporate culture of some international companies and they will deep their knowledge about the working culture of a country of their interest. Students will be able to identify the advantages and challenges in a multilingual and multicultural workplace. They will learn different working cultures, leadership modes and strategies to enhance cooperation and solve conflicts in cross-cultural collaboration and multicultural teams. Students will deep their knowledge about setting a multicultural virtual team and strategies to avoid communication challenges caused by language and non-verbal communication through communication virtual tools.
