Objectives

To give the basic information on the requirements, sources and suppression methods of the high-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by the switched-mode converters in oder to design the required EMI filter to comply to the international EMC requirements without compromising the stability and perfromance of the associated converters.

Content

Content Core content Complementary knowledge Specialist knowledge
1. The EMC standard related to the switched-mode converters will be governed. The sources of EMI noise in a switched-mode converter will be introduced. The basic method to design an EMI filter to suppress the EMI noise to acceptable lvel will be introduced. The effect of EMI filter on the converter stability and performance, and the methods to eliminate the adverse effects will be governed.
