Learning outcomes

The primary objective of the course is to learn to analyze and solve real life problems in business management. Other objectives are to develop teamwork and presentation skills, to practise justifying one's own point of view, and network building.

Evaluation criteria for the course

Grade (1-5) will be based on case assignments and business simulation. THE EMPHASIS OF THE ASSESSMENT will be on student's performance during the case sessions.

The number of students attending the course is strictly limited. The students who wish to apply for the course will take a pretest to show their background knowledge in different fields of business management. Further information will be given at the opening lecture. PREREQUISITES for international exchange students: You should have completed courses in most of the following areas: Accounting, Strategic Management, Economics, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Marketing Management, Production Management or Operations Management, Technology Management or Quality Management, and Supply Chain Management, or in equivalent topics.

Business Management Cases course TETA-4026 of 6 credits is composed of introductory lectures, appr. 10 case sessions and a business simulation game. This is a compulsory course for degree students majoring in Industrial Management.
