Exam and project.
Completion parts must belong to the same implementation
After the course, the student is expected to be able to design a simple passive microwave component.
Content | Core content | Complementary knowledge | Specialist knowledge |
1. | Microwave circuit theory. Impedance and admittance matrices, chain parameters (ABCD), and scattering parameters.
2. | Passive microwave components: power dividers, hybrids, and directional couplers. Understanding of basic operation.
3. | Filters (microstrip). Understanding of basic operation. Filter theory is NOT covered in detail.
4. | Project. Wilkinson power divider, direction coupler, branch-line hybrid, ring hybrid, OR stub filter. Design, implementation, measurement, and reporting. | Modern simulation software: CST Microwave Studio, AWR Microwave Office. |
The grade is determined by the exam. Successful completion of the project work is required to pass the course. Excellent project work may improve the grade by one.
Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
