Learning outcomes
Understanding of industrial control systems in particular classical single-input-single-output servo control systems: hydraulic, and electro-mechanic. To know basic physics and interaction among components of a servo control and behaviour of the system in both time domain and frequency domain. Reference tracking, disturbance rejection, and robustness. To teach different control strategies. Numerical simulations is also used.

This course introduces elements of industrial control systems in particular classical single-input-single-output servo control systems: hydraulic, and electro-mechanic. Basic physics and interaction among components of a servo control system is presented, and behaviour of the system is studied in both time domain and frequency domain. Different control strategies are introduced, mainly classical with some concepts borrowed from modern control, for example, robustness and limitations of performance. All the material of the course will be supported using numerical simulations in Matlab and Simulink, to strengthen understanding of concepts, to depart from being solely theoretical, and to learn complete design and implementation process. |
