- International Networks and Sourcing, 4 cr Visiting Professor Alok Chakrabarti Global networks of firms are increasingly becoming important in developing, manufacturing and marketing of products and services. The objective of the course is to provide the basic concepts related to organizational and social networks and their relationship with business in global context. Students will learn about various types of platforms for forming business networks. A ubiquitous product like an iPhone depends on many vendors around the world for its components such as the display, microprocessor, the SIM card, case, and battery. By using such case examples the course will highlight how to manage these networks when developing and manufacturing such products in practice. The course will promote collective learning process. There will be lectures coupled with case discussions and general interactions. The final examination will count for 50% of the weight while 50% weight will be given to class assignments and presentations.
