Learning Outcomes
The student is able to apply RAMS engineering methods and tools in innovative system-service design and development process. (RAMS = Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety)
Content
Content | Core content | Complementary knowledge | Specialist knowledge |
1. | Introduction of Systems RAMS Engineering Application and Management. | RAMS terminology. Concept of RAMS engineering process integrated in system design and realization, and technical management processes. (A system is a combination of interacting or interdependent elements organized to accomplish one or more stated functions. Respectively a system element is a discrete part of a system that can be implemented to fulfil specified requirements.)
2. | Modeling and analysis of Systems failure cause-consequence logic. | Event Logic Modelling and Analysis methods. Failure and operation structure. Deterministic and Probabilistic approach.
3. | Specification and Allocation of Systems RAMS Design Requirements. | Stakeholders Expectations and Requirements Definition.
4. | Methods for seeking out and selecting Systems design solutions from RAMS point of view. | Simulation and calculation of reliability performance and maintenance costs. Application of expert judgement in RAMS data assessemt.
5. | Application of RAMS design review to Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) in system-service design and development process. | Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) and Probabilistic Availability Assessment (PAA) and life cycle cost calculatiion. |
Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes
