Learning Outcomes
The course provides the students the capacity to create integrated solutions to complex urban development projects. The participants of the course work together with other students having diverse engineering and architecture backgrounds that complement the in-depth understanding on the availability of novel design solutions. After the course the students understand the context and value-creation of their own engineering discipline as part of the entire conceptual design solution. Further, the students learn how the value-adding design solutions are affected with the accumulative understanding, analysis, and creative problem-solving and opportunity-seeking. The course focuses on a selected real-life project. Engineerig student interested in participating the course are kindly asked to contact prof. Edelman to plan the content of the individual assignment.

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes
The engineering or development project will be evaluated on a 0-5 grading scale. Evaluation criteria take account of: - Conceptual solution and connection to the overall design of the project - Novelty of engineering or development solution - Relation to the surrounding environment - Factors of sustainability - Functional qualities and/or the demonstrated metrics of the project - Process, implementation and/or manufacturing qualities
Assessment scale:
Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course
