Learning outcomes

Student
- is familiar with various teaching and learning theories, and is able to consider and clarify her/his own conceptions of learning, teaching, and guiding,
- is able to develop his or her analytical skills in the study of teaching and learning, and
- develops readiness to construct, reflect and develop her/his pedagogical thinking through course practices,
understands the differences between teaching and guiding,
understands curriculum as a strategy for shaping teaching, learning, and educating and distinguishes the different theoretical traditions in curriculum development.

Contents

The course content covers the different theoretical approaches to teaching and learning with a special focus on developing and implementing teaching materials for all kinds of learners. The issues of teaching and learning will be discussed from societal, cultural, philosophical, psychological, curricular, and didactical perspectives.
