How long have you been in Tampere and what brought you here originally?

Over two years ago, I moved to Tampere when I finished high school. I came to Tampere to pursue my Bachelor's degree in TAMK. I felt in love with the city instantly! 

What TAMK degree do you study and why did you choose it?

I am currently a third-year student in Bachelor's Degree Programme in International Business.

The International Business Degree in TAMK offers many things that I could not get anywhere else. A good degree, in my opinion, is the one that fits my personal interest and personality. And TAMK International Business degree suits my preference completely. It includes so many case studies, connections with real companies, and practical teaching with experienced teachers. 

Additionally, this degree offers so many activities for students to have hands-on experience in many business fields in the first year and many major studies later in the studies. This is perfect for me as I can be sure that I am on the right career path. 

In your opinion, what makes TAMK special?

I think what makes TAMK unique is its people!

Since the first day, I became a TAMK student, I have felt that I want to be involved in this lovely community. All of the lecturers and TAMK staff are so kind-hearted and friendly. I will never forget anyone that I meet.

Also, the student network in TAMK is so strong and tight. In TAMK, you can find true friends and I believe those friendships will last for a long time even after graduating.

How would you describe Tampere as a student city?

Tampere is definitely a student-friendly city. It has a strong student culture with many activities and special days for students to be gathered and celebrate together. It has so many student organizations and hobby clubs to join. These organizations offer many activities for students to know more about Finland, Tampere. They also offer help for foreign students when they first move to Tampere. 

Besides, Tampere also offers students many opportunities to develop their professional life. Depending on one's creativity, talent and preferences one can find many good choices in Tampere.

Have you had memorable successes / epic failures in settling in Tampere? How did you overcome difficulties?

Since I moved to Tampere, I have achieved many little things that shaped who I am today. I have learned to settle in a foreign country. I have learned how to study effectively. And the most important thing is that I have learned how to survive through Finnish winter. Actually, in winter, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy with friends. Therefore, it is worth trying these activities with warm clothes.

To whom would you recommend Tampere as a place to study and why?

TAMK is the right choice for all students! All degrees are designed in a way that ensures you have enough experience and knowledge to compete in the job market. It is unique in the way that there are so many case studies, projects with real companies in some courses. TAMK empowers the students to be better day by day.

Tampere has many start-ups and long-standing companies. It is also a lively place with so many restaurants with diverse cultures. Life in Tampere is really great! It is not too hustle and bustle but it is also not too quiet and boring.
