"I hope to study and work in Finland and the university's community and the atmosphere paves the way for it"-a student ambassador story
Tell us about yourself and your studies
Being a curious wanderer of knowledge hailing all the way back from Sri Lanka, I came here to pursue the master's programme in Automation Engineering and Robotics in August 2022. I hope to study and work in Finland and the University's community and the atmosphere paves the way for it. And I was privileged enough to experience the most student-friendly city in Finland.
Did you develop any special skills while studying in Tampere?
I learned how to manage both aesthetics and studies together at the same time with less stress and anxiety.
What tips would you give to new students who are applying to study here?
Always make sure that you go through the programme well on all sources and gain all the relevant information. And make sure that you showcase your worthiness to be a part of Tampere University's community.
How do you get around the city?
I travel by tram when I have to visit the city centre, other than that, everything else is right around the corner within walking distance.
What is your favourite thing about the student culture in Finland?
The academic quarter, even though it is a mere 15 minutes, it is actually a golden quarter that makes sure that almost all students of the course are able to attend each and every lecture on time.
