"I just knew that I needed to study at TAMK" - student ambassador story

How long have you been in Tampere and what brought you here originally?

It’s my 3rd year in Tampere and my story isn’t original, I just came to study in TAMK. 

What subject do you study and how did you choose it?

I study Music production. I always had and still have passion for music and somehow, I learned that you cannot just play instruments and perform on stage, but you can do way more, you can compose, record, do sound design, do collaborative music projects and so on. So I was just browsing and asking friends where Ican study something like this. I knew places in my home town, but I didn’t like them. Later I discovered TAMK and possibility to study music production, after I saw it, I just knew that I needed to study at TAMK. 

What do you like about Tampere and Finland the most?

I enjoy how people treat their country with such a respect. Finland is not huge, but things produced here are really good quality and you can be sure of the service you get.  And of course, nature here is stunning, you don’t need to get outside of the city to see it, it is just near your place. 

What about your hobbies here in Tampere or in Finland? 

Studying takes most of my time, doing music is a hobby and study material at the same time, but I like to hang out with my friends. Sport also is big part of my life, i enjoy jogging in nearby park and swimming. 

What would you say to someone deciding whether Tampere is the right place to come to study and live?

Tampere is an urban city, so you would definitely find your place here, but you need to be aware of weather and climate, which can’t be the best for everyone.
