How long have you been in Tampere and what brought you here originally?

More than 4 years. I came to study Business and Administration in Tredu.

What TAMK degree do you study and why did you choose it?

I am studying Software Engineering.

My reasoning is that I want to be able to work at any part of the world, so IT is the profession which will allow to get a job anywhere even without knowing language of a place, moreover this field allows many opportunities and constant development, this qualities is what I'm looking in my life.

In your opinion, what makes TAMK special?

There’s so many things…student life, offered qualifications, Tampere itself, tuition fees for international students.

How would you describe Tampere as a student city?

I think the main specialty of Tampere that it is a student city full of young people and activities for them. However, at the same time Tampere is a very peaceful place, I feel safe here most of the time.

Tampere's surrounding nature is impressing, whatever destination you choose you will find a park, even a forest and a lake shore.

Have you had memorable successes / epic failures in settling in Tampere? How did you overcome difficulties?

Success: I didn't experience language troubles here. Seems like everyone speaks or tries to speak English in Tampere. I had situations when elderly people were able to communicate with me in English. It significantly simplifies daily life for international students.

Failure: There are many procedures an outsider should get through to live the same life as the Finnish citizens, such as making a police card to have online credentials etc.

To whom would you recommend Tampere as a place to study and why?

I strongly recommend Tampere to people who like nature and are looking for a relaxing peaceful place to live. Importantly, also to young girls who want to experience student life without being afraid for their safety.

I recommend TAMK to students who are looking for best value for money; the tuition fees are in balance with the education received. Also, to those who want to experience student life without unnecessary stress. The education system is created for you to succeed.
