Computer environment
The computers for staff members are mainly installed in centralised management environments maintained by the IT Services. Installation of operating systems and applications and security controls are managed with centralised systems. For each operating system (Windows, Mac and Linux) there is a separate environment.

TUNI Windows
Windows computers are installed in the Higher Education Community's common TUNI environment. Operating system and software installations, security settings etc. are installed centrally.
Log in to Windows computer with your TUNI user account/email and password.
You can identify a TUNI computer from the text "TUNI" or "ad.tuni.fi" on its login screen.

TUNI Mac
TUNI Mac is a management environment for macOS computers of the Higher Education Community. The computers of the staff members using macOS are connected to TUNI Mac.
Log in to Mac computer with your TUNI user account/email and password.

TUNI Linux
The Higher Education Community's common Linux environment offers computer and server systems for use. At the moment, students and staff members can use the following services:
- Linux computers for staff
- Linux computers for students, for example computer lab TC217 in Hervanta
- Linux remote desktop service linux-desktop.tuni.fi, which can be used from your own computer or for example in the Windows computer labs using TigerVNC application
- SSH service linux-ssh.tuni.fi
Log in to the services using your TUNI user account and password.
The Linux distribution is Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
