About me

I work as a specialist of research methods at the Doctoral School of the University of Tampere. I have a multidisciplinary background as I earned my DSocSci in Media Studies, did my M.A in history, and lately have broadened my scope to fashion and design research. In my work as a specialist, I am fascinated by the opportunity to follow the development of research methods and cooperation with researchers and teachers from different disciplines. I consider different ways of thinking and conducting research as richness, and I strive to support interaction between different sciences.

• Teaching of research methods and coordination of methodological teaching

• Taking part in planning the curriculum for the Doctoral School

• Monitoring the development of international methodological and doctoral education

• Cooperation with doctoral programmes and with other university actors

Fields of expertise

Participatory research methods (observation, interviews, action research); Qualitative content analysis methods (e.g. visual analysis, thematic analysis, critical discourse analysis, discursive historical analysis); Mixed methods such as combining qualitative and computational methods. Scientific thinking and scientific writing.
