Environmental and sustainability themes are now-a-days established as content of education. In an era of environmental crises, education has a specific role to support the construction of an environmentally responsible worldview and active environmental agency for learners of different ages. However, complex themes and feelings of environmental concern and anxiety that are becoming common among learners challenge the traditions and expertise of education. Therefore, environmental and sustainability education are relevant areas of research and development.

What kind of research on environment and sustainability is being conducted at the Faculty of Education and Culture at the Tampere University? In this two-hour webinar, researchers will present their ongoing research projects and we will discuss how educational research can respond to the environmental crisis and best support building a sustainable future.
