The play consists mainly in a dialogue between a playwright Kārlis Krūmiņš and an Artificial Intelligence (AI). In the play the playwright tests the capability of the AI to write a theatre play. In this human-machine interaction the traditional set up is reversed: the human playwright is a disembodied voice, while the AI is represented by living actors.

Even though a sense of dystopia haunts the text, the dialogues between the playwright and the AI are funny and witty.

“Frankenstein complex” is a term by the science fiction author Isaac Asimov. Asimov used it to describe the fear that an artificially intelligent creature could turn against its creators and endanger human lives.

The performance in Latvian is cooperation with Latvian Academy of Culture and it is part of the third-year study course Foreign language on stage. Courses have been organized at Näty regularly since 1995. The main competence goal is to deepen bodily expression and speech expression through working in a language foreign to the actor. This time, collaboration between artists who grew up in different theater cultures was also practiced. The episode has been implemented with the support of the Norteas network and Erasmus+ funding. Subtitles are in English.
