The two-day seminar offers a diverse program, including an excursion to Meri-Pori, expert talks, and a panel discussion on the challenges of the energy transition from perspectives such as design, labour markets, industry, coordination, and societal change. There will also topic-related workshops and a film night on nuclear energy. The program is both in Finnish and in English.
Key speakers include Minna Näsman (JustH2Transit), İdil Gaziulusoy (NODUS Sustainable Design Research Group), Aleksi Neuvonen (Demos Helsinki), Paavo Järvensivu (BIOS Research Unit), Panu Lehtovuori (Tampere University), Aleksi Lohtaja (Archinfo), Matti Luhtanen (Prizztech), Filip Rozborski (Graz University of Technology), Tiit Oidjärv (Estonian Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture), Antti Saloniemi (Tampere University) and Bregje van Veelen (Lund University).
Participation to UNE is free of charge. It is produced in collaboration with Tampere University, the University Consortium of Pori, and the City of Pori. UNE has received TURNS (Tampere Urban Research Network for Sustainability) research platform’s seed funding. It is also supported by STUE (Sustainable Transformation of Urban Environments research community), the national hydrogen network JustH2Transit and the regional higher education development project LISKO.
