FSD focuses on meeting the requirements set by CESSDA and takes an active part in development work within the research infrastructure. FSD will have an active role in designing services that CESSDA will offer to European researchers in the future and ensures that its own services are in line with European and international standards.
Background
CESSDA is a European infrastructure offering services related to research data for social scientists and one of the landmarks on ESFRI 2016 Roadmap. Finland is one of the 15 members of CESSDA, and the Finnish Social Science Data Archive is its national service provider. CESSDA is expected to undergo major developments between 2017 and 2021.
In order to carry out its tasks as a CESSDA service provider, FSD needs to strengthen its expertise, technical services and communications. The project comprises ten work packages whose common goal is to ensure that FSD will continue to have an active role in the development of CESSDA and its services for European researchers.
