Photonics enables widely used solutions in our everyday lives and industry, significantly protecting our well-being, health, environment, and resources.
The BioBase project aims to develop sustainable and renewable biomaterials to build sustainable photonic devices for ICT applications. We aim to
- engineer biomaterials ( for on-demand optical and other physical properties;
- integrate these biomaterials with deterministic structures and large-scale fabrication capability to fabricate various novel photonics devices that have never been demonstrated before, and
- employ the photonic devices for sustainable ICT application demonstrations with superior performance for imaging, sensing and optical communication
The consortium project is lead by Professor Zhipei Sun (Aalto University).
