DigiKilta 2016-2018

Tampere University

Digikilta is an extensive network project that aims at developing e-learning environments in Finnish preschools and elementary schools. The research data gathered in the workshops and webinars will be published and released in an open material bank.

The project enables different participants to experiment with tools and methods brought about by digitization. A wide comprehension helps teachers and learners to make maximum use of e-learning and edtech in the future.

The Digikita network creates models around which the infrastructure of learning, collaboration and peer learning are built and supported.

Goal

The current-day information society requires more and more skills on programming, robotics, and computer literacy. Learning the full scope of programming takes a long time.

By taking certain measures in the Finnish educational policy we can help young people to develop into professionals in an industry that has the potential to employ skillful specialists in the future. Digitization is a large area that the project covers extensively.

Some of the aspects that the project deals with include coding, evaluation methods, tutor teaching and technical support, e-learning materials, hardware acquisition models, predictive learning analysis, robotics, ecosystems, standardization, and GDPR.
