Geotechnical Learning Laboratory GeLLab
The laboratory space intended for teaching geotechnics, earth engineering and infrastructure construction materials is located in the L-wing of the Hervanta campus's Rakennustalo. Every year, more than 200 students are introduced to the identification and testing of soil and rock materials in the teaching laboratory. The teaching laboratory is used for teaching the basics of geotechnics at both the university and TAMK. The laboratory has versatile testing equipment for determining the basic properties of soil and rock materials. In addition, equipment is being acquired for the laboratory to perform more demanding tests. Students can book a lab practice time that suits them from the Alva reservation system.
