Goal
Tampere Vocational College Tredu and the city of Nokia have started a joint school building project. When the building will be completed in June 2022, it will be learning environment for vocational and upper secondary school students and basic educational additional class pupils.
The aim of the Kampus3-project is to develop a common operating culture for vocational, upper secondary and basic education schools in new Nokia campus. The project is joint implementation of Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Tredu Vocational College, Nokia City upper secondary school and Nokia comprehensive school.
In the short term, the common campus will be created to support students as a learning community where students´ self-esteem will develop and both social and physical learning environments will form one pedagogical learning environment. In the long run, the evolving campus will produce a pilot-type model for the implementation of renewable education and serve as a nationwide benchmark for development.
The project supports the creation of a common operating culture through development processes. The intention is that all members of the community can be involved in making an impact. Forms of work include workshops and joint events that create the basis for a common operating culture.
Because of the project, students´ attachment to their studies will be strengthened and educational exclusion will be reduced. The operating models created will facilitate the student's smooth transitions and support students' retention in education through enhanced guidance. As a concrete result of the project will be developed manuals as a basis for harmonizing the activities of the new campus.
