Based on surveys carried out in recent years, the companies that have grown in South Ostrobothnia have invested in raising the level of digitalization. Furthermore, based on the surveys, it can be observed that in South Ostrobothnia, in Suupohja, the orientation towards digitalization is the weakest. According to the mentioned studies and reports, especially in small companies located in rural areas, raising the level of digitization would be essential both in terms of growth and the companies' viability.
The project has been prepared in cooperation with the business representatives of Isojoki, Karijoki and Teuva, together with representatives of the Southern Ostrobothnia University Association and Seinäjoki University Center.
In the project, the general digital capabilities of companies in the target municipalities are investigated through interviews. On the basis of the collected data, an overview of the digitalization capabilities of companies operating in the municipal area and the ability to utilize the opportunities offered by different technologies is obtained. The interviews also aim to bring out company-specific digitalization needs and opportunities.
The output of the project will be two reports. The first describes the general level of digitization of companies in the target municipalities and the opportunities it brings to companies. Second, the companies interviewed in the project are grouped based on the degree of digitalization and company-specific needs, and group-specific follow-up action proposals are prepared for them and reported.
