Mechanical Laboratory Services
TAMK's mechanical laboratory offers testing and analysis services, as well as help with product development.
We provide customer-oriented, collaboration-based services, which range from conducting individual tests to collaborating in extensive product development projects. The multi-functional capabilities of our laboratory equipment, and the services of our professional staff and skilful students are available to companies, educational institutions and private persons.
The mechanical laboratory rents out its laboratory facilities and equipment to companies and educational institutions. We also offer tailor-made education for companies.
We offer the following services, among others:
- Production of prototype series using different production techniques (e.g. 3D printing)
- Tensile strength tests
- Load and stress tests
Fast 3D printing for diverse purposes
It is possible to use the 3D printer of our mechanical laboratory for a variety of business cooperation projects. It is possible to produce items with the 3D printer using the most common plastic printing technique (FDM) based on a 3D CAD model.
The 3D printing service has a wide range of applications in product design, development and production, and sales. The printer can be used for printing an exact model item to demonstrate the form, functionality and proportions of the product.
The model item can be used to shorten the production process, avoid design errors, and verify compatibility. It can also be used as support for sales and marketing.
Structural strenght test
The strength tests offered by Tampere University of Applied Sciences are suitable for dynamic and static testing of different materials, such as composites and metals.
Successful quality and production process monitoring as well as development of new materials require exact information on the resistance of items and materials.
Material fatigue and overload are common causes for damages in supporting structures and mechanical machines and equipment and related accidents.
The fastest and most reliable way to determine the carrying capacity of structures is a load test. With our load and stress tests the service life of items and materials can be determined in a reliable and exact manner.
The tests confirm the structural design loads and provide detailed information on the dependencies between loads and strength parameters.
