The Obstetrics and Clinical Genetics group focuses on the impact of common pregnancy disorders, especially hypertensive pregnancy disorders, and rare diseases on maternal and child health.
The impact of pregnancy disorders is not limited to obstetric and pediatric domains, as they are also associated with increased risk of cardiometabolic disorders in later life of the mother and the child. Current research of the group aims at improving the identification of at-risk mothers in order to prevent the potential negative health effects of these disorders on both mothers and children in the short and long term.
Research focus and goals
- Lifestyle intervention on cardiovascular diseases prevention
- Pathomechanism and genetic risk factors for pre-eclampsia and hypertensive pregnancy disorders
- Maternal and neonatal outcomes after infertility treatments
