PIRG works with various interaction techniques and technologies to create novel human-technology interaction solutions for different real-world uses. Our way of conducting research is to identify the problem or need, then plan and implement a solution, and finally, evaluate it with real representative users in a real-world context whenever possible.
We work with different organizations, including various industrial and technology companies, and different kinds of user groups from professionals in varying fields to users with special needs.
We commonly utilize speech and gestural interaction, and other non-traditional interaction modalities. During recent years, utilizing extended reality technologies, such as virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies, have become key assets in our activities.
Our group is part of Tampere Unit for Computer-Human Interaction.
