Quickly to work - a co-operation model for supporting the unemployed people with higher education at Pirkanmaa is a project funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The aim of the project is to develop a co-operation stuctures and service model for guidance to support the immediate employment of the unemployed with higher education. The project will be implemented together with Tampere University, Tampere University of Applied Sciences and the City of Tampere Employment Services.

Background

  • Immediate employment after graduation has a significant impact on a career and its stabilization in the labor market.
  • The structure of guidance services that support employment, as well as the guidance and support of graduates, needs to be developed in cooperation with the actors.
  • Graduates need support in job search skills, building working life networks and identifying hidden jobs.
  • Supporting the employment of people with higher education requires close cooperation between universities and employment services, drawing on the core competencies of experts.
  • The services must be tailored to the customer's needs and access to the services must be made more efficient. 

 

Goal

The aim of the project is to develop a guidance co-operation and service model between the university community and the City of Tampere's employment services.

The target group of the project is university graduates under the age of 30, who are outside the labor force and education and customers of the Pirkanmaa Government Pilot on employment experiment.

The result of the project is to create

  • structures for cooperation between actors
  • new co-operation in guidance which utilizes the expertise of the parties
  • service model for post-graduate guidance and immediate employment support
  • clear description and access to the guidance services

Impact

The project is supporting employment goals of the Pirkanmaa Government Pilot on employment experiment and promote the development of continuous learning services.
