Translocalis is a digital history project that studies and collects letters to the press in 19th century Finland. The database of the project contains all the readers’ letters written in the name of local communities and published in the Finnish-language press during the period of 1775–1885, gathered from the fully digitalized newspaper collection of the National Library of Finland. Theproject is implemented in the Finnish Academy Centre of Excellence in the History of Experiences (HEX) and it is funded by Alfred Kordelin Foundation (2021-2023).
