Central topics of the course are:
- Application areas of data analysis.
- Common data representation formats (JSON, XML) and using them computationally.
- Searching and modifying data with regular expressions.
- Manipulating data with the functional map, filter and reduce operations.
- Data visualization.
The course concentrates especially on the following popular Python tools for data analysis:
- Anaconda Python environment.
- NumPy, SciPy and Pandas libraries.
- Jupyter Python environment used in a web browser.
