Guidance and counselling in postgraduate education
The goal of academic guidance and counselling is that you reach the goals set for your education and degree and that you feel well during your studies. Guidance and counselling support the completion of your studies within the target time. You receive academic guidance in support of learning and becoming an academic expert as part of teaching and research and, where possible, as a stand-alone service. The guidance the University offers enhances the multidisciplinary nature of postgraduate education and the achievement of internationalisation goals.
The responsible supervisor is the key person to support and supervise you in drafting and updating the personal study plan and research plan as well as in questions related to the everyday work of a researcher so that you can further your research. You may also be guided, among others, by other supervisors in their area of responsibility, the possible follow-up group, the responsible teacher in the doctoral programme, and student administration personnel. Other key players in supervision and helping to accrue expertise are:
- Tampere University’s Doctoral School
- Research and Innovation Services
- Library
- People and Culture (HR)
- the joint services of the Education and Learning unit, especially services supporting well-being and career planning
