Financial matters when studying at Tampere University

Planning a budget for your studies is important as all the students at Tampere University must fund their studies and living expenses themselves. Make sure that you have adequate funding and enough of financial means to pay for possible tuition fees, your studies and living expenses for the entire period of your study.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees charged for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes offered in English at Tampere University range between 10,000 and 12,000 euros per academic year. In joint degree programmes, the tuition fee may vary.

Tuition fees will be charged from citizens of a country outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA)  or Switzerland.

There are no tuition fees for exchange students, PhD students or citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland and those who have permanent residence status in Finland.

Scholarships

Tampere University seeks to recognise high-achieving, motivated students. Tampere University Scholarships Programme is intended for students who are required to pay tuition fees in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes offered in English.

Costs of Living

All students have to pay for their accomodation and living expenses themselves. It is important to make arrangements for adequate funding for the entire period of your studies before leaving your home country.

Working while Studying

Working part-time while studying might be an option to finance your studies. In addition to some useful extra cash, having a part-time job can be a good way of gaining valuable work experience and networks alongside your studies.

Study and Stay

Study & stay is a programme of activities and services for international degree students. The aim of Study & Stay is to support international students to study, live and work -or start a business- in the Tampere Area. Study & Stay was developed by the Tampere Universities Career Services in collaboration with the City of Tampere and as part of the International Tampere Hub project and the national Talent Boost programme.
