Challenge our students and step into the world of gamification!
Description
Gamification, or bringing elements of games to non-game contexts, could be much more than just giving points or enabling leader boards for your customers and users.
Gamification Group at Tampere University provides you a simple approach to immerse yourself in the world of gamification. Present a gamification challenge to the students of the Gamification Design, Theory and Practice course. Mentored by experts from the Gamification Group, the student teams will develop a gamification strategy for your organization, focusing on your target groups, needs, and objectives.
Who's it for
Organizations and communities who
- are about to develop gamification strategy
- consider using gamification in their activities, projects, products, services, development or engagement processes
- seize a chance to explore the possibilities of gamification in low risk and cost
How does it all happen
The course runs from March to May. It brings together master students from various disciplines across the university, such as:
- Games Studies
- Education
- Sustainable Digital Lives
- Computer Science
Students gain hands-on experience in gamification design through critically analyzing different gamification design frameworks, theories behind them and practical examples.
All you need to do is to:
- Make sure you have a clearly defined problem/product/service/project to be gamified.
- Appoint a person within your organization to be the main contact point. This person should be familiar with the case, be available for at least one interview with the team, and join the results’ presentations.
- Fill out the case description form
Please note that these are student projects developed throughout the course. Therefore, participating organizations should expect a gamification strategy that responds to the challenge presented, bearing in mind that potentially follow-up from the involved teams after the course’s end is improbable.
