About me

Dr. Xinxin Yu, (PI, D.Sc. (Tech.)) is currently leading the project of DETECT4WE: Model-based estimation of railroad wheel-to-rail profile change and contact forces funded by Marie-curie postdoc fellowship project. In collaboration with the University of Seville, Delft University of Technology, and ProRail Ltd, she aims to develop a model-based estimation approach for the condition monitoring of railroad wheel-to-rail profile change and contact forces and to validate it experimentally. Her second ongoing project is ACROSS: Dynamic investigation on a curved origami-inspired robotic surgical microgripper considering soft contact and variable stiffness funded by the Academy of Finland (Mobility cooperation with Japan, China, or Germany). In collaboration with Shanghai Jiaotong University (China), she aims to design a novel surgical microgripper that can be used for minimally invasive surgery.
