  • Solving linear and nonlinear systems

  • Interpolating functions

  • Function approximations

  • Numerical integration

  • Error analysis

  • Matlab and/or Python in problem solving

  • Numerical methods for partial differential equations, e.g., finite difference and finite element methods

  • Runge-Kutta and Leap-Frog methods for solving initial value problems

  • Methods for fining roots, e.g.,  Newton-Raphson method

  • Polynomial, spline and wavelet approximations

  • Interpolation methods such as Runge's method

  • Numerical quadratures, for example, Newton-Cotes -method, trapezoid and Simpson's formula

  • Least squares fitting methods
