Learning Outcomes

On completion this course, the student can - use the basic vocabulary of appropriate terminology related the anatomy and physiology for communication, - describe the basics of the structure and physiology of the eukaryote cells, - describe the cross anatomy of the human body, - describe the essential functional anatomy of the human organ systems, - explain functioning and integration of the physiological organ systems, - recognize and explain the principle of homeostasis and the use of feedback loops to control physiological systems in the human body, and - tell the basic medical imaging and physiological measurements for studying the structure and function of the human body.

1. Orientation to human body and human anatomy and physiology: Basic concepts of physiology. Principles of homeostasis and feedback control loops. Cross anatomy of the body. Basic of cells and tissues.  Biochemical basis of physiology.   
2. Physiological organ systems: functional anatomy and physiological function. Regulation of vital body functions. Integration of body systems.  Case studies. Clinical diagnostic methods. Application of physics and engineering models.   

Instructions for students on how to achieve the learning outcomes

Grades 1-2: Learning outcomes have been achieved sufficiently. Sufficient command in core content of the course. Grades 3-4: Learning outcomes have been achieved. Good command in core content and complementary knowledge of the course. Grade 5: Some of the learning outcomes have been exceeded qualitatively. Deep command in the whole content of the course.
