FYS-2506 Surface Science of Photonic Nanomaterials, 5 cr

Implementation FYS-2506 2019-01

Description

After completing the course, the student will be able to interrelate the main physicochemical surface and interface properties with the light-matter interaction of photonic materials. The student will learn how the surface and interface properties can be employed to control the nanoscale phenomena governing the optical response. During the course the student will be able to evaluate how the surface and interface mediated processes can be utilized to develop technologically relevant material properties in photonic applications by participating in tutorial learning sessions (teams of 4-6 students) based on the shared expertise of the team members. The student will master the skills required to report the results of the learning assignments using online learning management system as well as in the form of a research report. This course is based on a blended learning method with 'flipped classroom' type of activities, so please bring your laptop/tablet/smart phone to the learning sessions.

Period The implementation will not be executed during the academic year 2019-2020.
