Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, student will be able to discuss the basic principles behind the quantum mechanical model of atoms. Student is able to describe simple models of chemical bonding and compare the properties different types of bonds will yield a material. Student will be able to explain, what is chemical energy and how it can be changed into other forms of energy. Student will be able to solve simple chemical problems. She/he will be able to give examples on how chemistry affects different aspects of people's lives and different industries. The aim is to give an engineer the pre-requisites to work in the future together with experts of Chemistry. The course is using Team-Based Learning as the methdod for teaching and learning. The student will be able to evaluate her own and other people's team working capabilities.
