Description
his implementation is exclusive for students participating in DEMOLA in the Autumn & Spring 2018 -2019 (The online course lasts one period).
General description:
This online course focuses on developing both Intercultural competence as wells as English spoken communication skills in multicultural team work situations. During the course, students will learn and practice important vocabulary and intercultural competence strategies for participating effectively in multicultural meetings. Note: this course is only available to students involved in Demola projects as the purpose is to support the outcome of their project!
Learning outcomes:
Upon finishing the course, the students will be able to
- identify different cultural and linguistic styles of negotiation
- advantages and challenges in their multicultural teamwork
- conduct and participate in a meeting in a multicultural team
- reflect on their own linguistic and intercultural development when working in multicultural teams

Requirements
Simultaneous participation in the Demola Project.
To achieve the learning outcomes, students will
- read texts / watch videos and then take part in group discussions online
- give and receive feedback from other students
- learn vocabulary /phrases related to participating effectively in meetings and one-on-one situations
- reflect on their own intercultural and linguistic behavior / performance during the Demola project
- write a final reflection on their own linguistic and intercultural development during the course
Continuous evaluation. Milestone 1: 10% Milestone 2: 10% Milestone 3: 10% Milestone 4: 10% Milestone 5: 10% Milestone 6: 50% / 5: 93-100% of total points 4: 86-92% 3: 78-85% 2: 70-77% 1: 65-69%
