Learning Outcomes

The course focuses mainly on vibration monitoring of rotating machinery, but these methods can be applied widely for monitoring different kinds of sensor signals like process parameters, strain gauge and sound. When passing the course student knows common measurement and analysis methods for monitoring the running of machinery. He can choose right measurement methods and equipment and he can define right measurement settings in order to get reliable measurement results. Student can apply analysis method and he can evaluate the reliability of the analysis result. Student can analyze measurement results with own coded functions and he can implement a monitoring system with graphical programming software. Student becomes acquainted with modal analysis in theory and derives experience also in laboratory exercise.
