Description

The course is divided into two parts, a series of lectures on four principal areas of gamification followed by a series of seminars in which students work in groups and select a topic for further investigation. The course is designed to deepen knowledge on the theory, practice and design of gamification, enabling students to gain expertise on how gamification can be defined, theorized and designed as well as how it manifests in technology, culture and organizations.

The course enables the student to gain expertise on how the area of gamification of their choosing can be defined, theorized and designed as well as how it manifests in technology, culture and organizations.

Participation to contact sessions is in principal compulsory.

The course aims to develop the understanding of the following:
- understand the concept of gamification
- interpret gamified structures and interactions
- understand how to design gamification and apply it in practice
- know how to implement gamification as a design principle
