The course is implemented in Pori but interested students from other study programs are also welcome. Lecture videos / course material will be available in electronic format and it is possible to do the exercises and workshops independently of time and place. Remote connection will also be offered for workshops and course project presentations.

Learning Outcomes

After passing the course, the student is familiar with the concept of clinical decision support systems and can apply this knowledge to specific health care environment. The student is familiar with the main types of health data, both structured and unstructured, as well as various health data exchange formats and principles. The student can assess knowledge bases of health data and has the skills to create new knowledge. The student can apply decision support technologies and machine learning algorithms to health data and evaluate produced results.
