For doctoral students, the scope of homeworks and project is more advanced compared to MSc students.

Active participation in the lectures, small exam or homework (lecture diary) for each lecture/topic area, and a small final project (e.g., literature study or simulation exercise). For doctoral students, the scope of project is more advanced compared to MSc students and a short presentation together with a 3-4 page report following IEEE publications guidelines is required. |
Learning Outcomes
After passing this course, the students have good understanding on the potential, requirements, use cases, and core enabling technologies of future 5G and beyond wireless communication networks. Particular emphasis is on the 5G New Radio physical layer and radio system/network aspects.

Getting familiar with each of the central topic areas with the help of lecturee notes, the 5G NR book, and supplementary materials indicated for each topic area. Getting deeper familiarity with a selected specific area through the final project.
