Description

Opintojakson pääsisältönä on laatia suunnitelma, jossa tarkastellaan aiemmilla kaupunki- ja yhdyskuntasuunnittelun kursseilla käsiteltyjä teemoja ja mittakaavoja yhtenä monialaisena kokonaisuutena. Opintojakson toteutusmuotona on ongelmalähtöiseen oppimiseen perustuva suunnitteluprosessi, jossa kurssin opettajat toimivat tiiviisti kurssin pienryhmien ohjaajina ja sparraajina. Opintojakson suunnittelukohde valitaan siten, että siihen liittyvät ongelmat ovat opiskelijoille mahdollisimman uusia. Lisäksi opintojaksolla tarkastellaan yhdyskuntasuunnittelua ja kaupungistumista globaalilla tasolla. Opintojaksoon sisältyy myös harjoitustyöhön liittyvän analyysin laatiminen.

The main task of the course is to design a plan that implements the themes and scales discussed in earlier urban and urban planning courses as a single, multidisciplinary entity. The course module is based on a problem-based learning process, where the teachers work closely as the group tutors. The subject of the course is chosen so that the problems associated with it are current and timely. In addition, the course examines community planning and urbanization at the global level. The course also includes the preparation of an analysis work.

A finished design task and required analyses, as well as smaller design tasks.

Additional information of course implementation

When a course is over-subscribed, i.e. there are more sign-ups than places on the course, we enroll
the required number of students according to the following criteria and order:
1) students that are enrolled in the Bachelor/Master/Doctor of Science in Architecture degree programs
2) exchange students that are enrolled in the exchange program in Architecture and if needed the priority is given to students that signed up first
3) students that are enrolled in the degree programs other than Architecture and if needed priority is given to students for whom the course is compulsory and then if needed the priority is given to students that signed up first
4) other students and if needed the priority is given to students that signed up first
Students on the sign-up / waiting list have to be present on the first day of the course to be sure of retaining their place.
